| Anxiety ... |
Anxiety is the most common mental health disorder
in the United States.
Less than 25% of Americans with anxiety disorders receive any kind of treatment for their condition. The five most
common anxiety conditions are:
- Panic Disorder - recurrent, unexpected attack of acute anxiety,
typically peaking within 10 minutes. Such panic may occur in a familiar
situation, such as a crowded elevator, flying in an airplane or public
speaking but often the cause seems unclear.
- Specific Phobia - consuming fear of a specific object or situation,
often accompanied by extreme anxiety symptoms.
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - a preoccupation with specific thoughts, images
and/or impulses, sometimes accompanied by excessive or habitual behaviors and/or
rituals.
- Post-traumatic Stress Disorder - repeated, anxious reliving of an
event that entailed experiencing or witnessing violent injury, threat of
injury, death or witnessing death(s) or violence.
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder - excessive anxiety or worry, occurring
more days than not for six months or more.
Ultimately, the goal is to discover relief from troubling symptoms and find enduring solutions
to free you from crippling anxiety.
