More About Michael – MSW, LISW-S, CTS
Michael is an independently licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been providing outpatient psychotherapy services since 1987. He enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan and with his extensive clinical background he is qualified to address a wide array of concerns with individuals, families, and couples. Michael is a Trauma and Loss Clinical Specialist (CTS) and a contributor to the book, Trauma-Informed Practices with Children and Adolescents. Throughout his career, he has assisted both child and adult trauma survivors through the recovery process. Michael’s other areas of advanced training and interest include: treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders and Anxiety Disorders in children and adults, couples therapy using Gottman Method principles and strategies, and developmental assessment and intervention services to very young children (toddlers-preschool age) and their families.
His approach frequently includes the application of Mindfulness Awareness Practices (MAP’s), and Positive Psychology strategies and interventions to enhance psychological flexibility, personal well-being, resilience, social connections, positive emotions, and meaning in life.
