More About Barbara -MA, LIMFT, LICDC
Barbara is a Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Specialist (LICDC). She received her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. Prior to attaining that degree, she received a degree in Addiction Counseling allowing her to work with individuals and groups in residential treatment. Upon receiving her Master’s degree, she expanded her work to serve blended families, premarital and married couples, parents and others who needed help in their relationships. In addition, she continued to help clients who faced trauma, depression, anxiety, unforgiveness, unhealthy thought patterns, grief and loss.
Barbara has extensive training in Imago Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She has also been an integral part of training others in Solution-Focused Trauma Informed Care. Because no two individuals are alike, she will tailor her approach according to your needs. Her welcoming, calm demeanor allows you to be your authentic self.
Whether working with families, couples or individuals, she uses a culturally sensitive and family systems approach which includes identifying relational patterns that may be impacting your relationships with others and your view of self. Barbara believes the most important relationship you have is with yourself, as it will impact how you view every life circumstance. She will meet you where you are on your healing journey by creating a space where your voice matters and you feel heard.
