More About Brenton – MA, LPCC-S
Brenton is an independently licensed professional clinical counselor. He received his Master of Arts degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from Liberty University in 2013 and has placed an emphasis on children and adolescents as well as adults struggling with a wide range of mental health and substance abuse related problems. He focuses most of his time working with children and adolescents who have problem behaviors, depression, anxiety, trauma, or who have experienced challenges adjusting to new situations in life. Brenton utilizes a team approach to therapy by working with the family, as he believes that a child’s environment is crucial to his or her development and ongoing mental health. Knowing that counseling may seem scary at first, but the intervention strategies utilized by Brenton will most likely make your child feel comfortable and more likely to engage early in the treatment process.
Brenton also enjoys working with adults who are facing depression, anxiety or have been overcome by addictions. While many people may experience these issues, he knows that every person will experience them differently. Brenton’s goal is to help you gain clarity with your challenges and create a functional plan to address the problems they bring into your life. He specializes in using Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy techniques to assist in meeting individual treatment goals and tailors the treatment to the individual.
