More about Emily – MA, LPC
Emily Samuelson is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She attended Heidelberg University and earned her Bachelors in Psychology with a strict focus on Children, Adolescents, and Women/Gender Studies. After that she received her Master of Arts in Counseling and Ministry from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She enjoys working with a diverse population and helping individuals find creative outlets that encourage confidence and empowerment within themselves.
Life can be hard and stressful for many individuals, but for children, they are especially challenging, even traumatic. These times can trigger very strong emotions and put a halt to an individual’s life. Emily has worked with children and adolescents who are adjusting to major life transitions. Her specialized training in behavior modification, trauma recovery, and life transitions has enabled her to help children develop into the best version of themselves. She engages children through play and creative mindfulness to encourage communication about their experiences and build healthy coping behaviors. Through supportive dialogue, collaboration, and mindful coaching, children and parents learn new ways to interact and improve their self-confidence.
Emily’s goal in therapy is to help her client’s come to an understanding of their life circumstance and gain skills that will help them achieve their daily and future goals. Her personal belief is to find what makes someone’s heart soar and use it to inspire them to find inner strength.
