More About Kimberly – MSW, LSW, LICDC

Kimberly Bonta earned her Masters degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University and is an independently licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Licensed Social Worker. She began her career as a substance abuse counselor, working primarily with clients who were undergoing detoxification from drugs and alcohol. She later counseled individuals who had been released from the federal prison system.

In addition to working with clients who have faced substance abuse, Kimberly counsels clients with a broad-based, comprehensive approach, helping them to overcome depressive and anxiety symptoms in order to experience a more enjoyable and peace-filled life.

She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy. In addition, she uses schema therapy as a tool to help clients determine the “life-traps” that may impact all aspects of their existence, including recovery from drug and alcohol dependence.
