Leslie Hansen

Leslie is an independently licensed professional clinical counselor and she also serves as the Clinical Director of Counseling & Coaching. She received her Master’s degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and has placed her emphasis on individuals who’ve experienced trauma and couples who are trying to improve their relationship.

No matter when a trauma occurs, it can be difficult to discuss. Leslie is committed to taking the time necessary to help you feel comfortable in processing the event to improve your relationships, restore inner peace, and experience greater satisfaction in life.  Using Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Leslie can help lessen the impact that thoughts and feelings have on your life. Leslie is also trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) to help groups heal from the trauma they’ve witnessed/experienced.

In some cases, trauma may impact a marriage.  Leslie’s training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps her connect with the couple on a deeper level.  She helps both the husband and wife recognize the purposes behind their behavior and inspires each person to see the other person’s positive intent. Taking judgment out of the communication cycle, developing a more positive regard toward one another, and creating a more secure bond with a partner helps to restore a sense of trust and build hope in the relationship.  Leslie looks at marriage from a biological, sociological, psychological, sexual, and spiritual perspective.

Other areas of expertise include adult ADHD, parenting education, and codependency recovery.  She has prepared and led many parenting workshops, ADHD seminars, marital and premarital intensives, as well as numerous self-help seminars.

Leslie provides Telehealth sessions online for clients in Ohio, Florida, and Vermont.
