More About Leslie – MA, LPCC-S

Leslie Hansen is an independently licensed professional clinical counselor and she also serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Directions Counseling Group. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary.

Leslie has pursued specialized training to work with individuals who have experienced physical, psychological or emotional trauma. No matter when a trauma occurred, it can be difficult to discuss. Leslie is committed to taking the time necessary to help you feel comfortable in processing the event in order to improve your relationships, restore peace, and experience greater satisfaction in life.  She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  Both forms of therapy lessen the impact that thoughts and feelings have over you.

Marriage and family are extremely important to Leslie. With an undergraduate degree in communication, Leslie spent more than 20 years studying how communication plays a vital role in relationship success. Whether helping parents grow in confidence with their children using a Conscious Discipline approach, or helping couples value, honor, and appreciate one another using the Gottman method of therapy, Leslie enjoys seeing clients build their confidence and meet their relationship goals.

Leslie has also prepared and led many parenting and marriage workshops and led numerous self-help and educational seminars.

Leslie also provides webcam consults online for existing clients who request service from their home or remote locations.
