More About Sherri – MSW, LISW-S

Sherri Grimone earned her Master’s of Social Work from The Ohio State University, and has over twenty-five years of clinical experience.  She has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, trauma, relationship issues, substance abuse, ADD, and ADHD.  Sherri specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents who want to help their children reach their highest potential.  Her goal is to help families achieve a more harmonious and happy life.

Sherri has extensive training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).  Traumatic events can cover a wide range from sexual abuse, physical/verbal abuse, and the loss of loved ones.  CBT is used to help process past trauma.  She uses a therapeutic approach that allows her to adapt her sessions to suit the specific needs of the individual and/or family.  Her sessions may include CBT, trauma-focused CBT, play therapy, motivational interviewing, and EMDR therapy which focuses on relieving psychological stress or trauma.  She has specific experience within schools, helping adolescents with substance abuse issues.  Her work includes prevention, and individual/family therapy to help deal with the underlying issues.

Sherri has a strong passion for dealing with children.  Her goal is to help children reach their potential and lead happier and more productive lives.  Whether it is working with the child or integrating other family members into the sessions, she strives to help them achieve a plan that will guide them into the future.

It can be challenging to navigate the issues facing children today, especially adolescents.  Whether it is relationships, discipline, social media, bullying, or dealing with substance abuse, parenting can be a struggle.  As a parent herself anhaving extensive experience providing therapy to children and families, Sherri can help guide you through therapy with a non-judgmental process.
